Photo Editing Software List

Restoring your photos or making your image print-ready does not have to be a time consuming process.
If you have not explored using an image editing program, there are a number of good ones out there that I recommend to my customers. Many of them are submitting old photos of family members to be printed on canvas or a high grade photo paper (see FinerWorks.com for more details) or sometimes it is a photo that they want to touch up or edited a certain way to server as an underpainting. Some software programs are more expensive then others. Below is a list of some of my favorites for preparing artwork or photographs to be printed on canvas or fine art paper.

  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo
  • Adobe Photoshop Elements
  • Ulead PhotoImpact
  • Microsoft Digital Image SuiteQuite often new artists and photographers are looking for a quick and easy solution. For them I recommend get started with one of these programs below.
  • GIMP
  • Serif PhotoPlus
  • Paint.NET
  • Pixia
  • VCW VicMan’s Photo Editor
  • PhotoFiltre
  • Ultimate Paint
  • ImageForgeSeveral of the programs are free or at least offer a 30 day trial version. Try them out and find one that is good for you.
